Eating Disorder Screenings & Support

Compassionate Eating Disorder Screening & Support

Wondering if your relationship with food might be a problem? Maybe you’ve noticed restrictive eating patterns, frequent binges, or constant guilt around food. Or maybe you’re just not sure — you feel something isn’t right, but you don’t know if it “counts.”

At Monadnock Nutrition Services, you don’t need to have it all figured out before reaching out. That’s exactly what our eating disorder screenings are for.

What Is an Eating Disorder Screening?

A screening is a gentle, non-judgmental assessment where we explore your relationship with food, your body, and your health. We’ll ask questions about eating patterns, thoughts, and behaviors, but the goal isn’t to diagnose or label you — it’s to provide clarity and next steps.

After your screening, we’ll talk through what we’ve learned together and discuss options for ongoing support. Sometimes that means starting nutrition counseling with us, sometimes it means connecting you with a higher level of care, and sometimes it’s simply giving you reassurance and resources.

Our Approach to Eating Disorder Care

We specialize in supporting a wide range of eating concerns, including:

  • Restriction and chronic dieting.

  • Binge eating and compulsive overeating.

  • Bulimia and purging behaviors.

  • Orthorexia and rigid “clean eating.”

  • Atypical anorexia and ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder).

Our care is always HAES®-aligned and weight-inclusive. We do not use the scale as a marker of progress. Instead, we focus on healing behaviors, thoughts, and your overall well-being.

Why Screenings Matter

Many people delay seeking help because they’re unsure if their struggles are “serious enough.” The truth is: if food and body image are taking up more space in your life than you want them to, you deserve support. Screenings provide an accessible, low-pressure way to take that first step.

Support Beyond the Screening

If ongoing care is needed, we offer individual virtual counseling sessions for disordered eating, along with family support to help loved ones understand and participate in the recovery process. We also collaborate closely with your medical and mental health providers to ensure comprehensive care that supports you on every level. Recovery is possible, and it starts with reaching out.
